I haven’t done one of these articles in a while… So, eventhough March has already started, I thought I would take the time to talk about some interesting books that came out or will come out this month
Title: What the Wind Knows
Author: Amy Harmon
Publisher: Lake Union Publishing
Release Date: March 1st 2019
Synopsis: Anne Gallagher grew up enchanted by her grandfather’s stories of Ireland. Heartbroken at his death, she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes. There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time.
The Ireland of 1921, teetering on the edge of war, is a dangerous place in which to awaken. But there Anne finds herself, hurt, disoriented, and under the care of Dr. Thomas Smith, guardian to a young boy who is oddly familiar. Mistaken for the boy’s long-missing mother, Anne adopts her identity, convinced the woman’s disappearance is connected to her own.
As tensions rise, Thomas joins the struggle for Ireland’s independence and Anne is drawn into the conflict beside him. Caught between history and her heart, she must decide whether she’s willing to let go of the life she knew for a love she never thought she’d find. But in the end, is the choice actually hers to make?
A few years ago, I discovered Amy Harmon and her beautiful novel MaKing Faces. I adored this book that completely wrecked me. And this new one seems just has good, needless to say I am pumped about this release!
Title: The Everlasting Rose (The Belles #2)
Author: Dhonielle Clayton
Release date: March 5th 2019
Synopsis: In this sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller, Camille, her sister Edel, and her guard and new love Remy must race against time to find Princess Charlotte. Sophia’s Imperial forces will stop at nothing to keep the rebels from returning Charlotte to the castle and her rightful place as queen. With the help of an underground resistance movement called The Iron Ladies-a society that rejects beauty treatments entirely-and the backing of alternative newspaper The Spider’s Web, Camille uses her powers, her connections and her cunning to outwit her greatest nemesis, Sophia, and restore peace to Orleans.
Last Year I got to read the first book in this series. I really enjoyed the universe and the ending gave me high hopes for the sequel. Also, this cover is stunning 😍.
Title: Superman : Dawnbreaker (DC Icons #4)
Author: Matt de la Pena
Publisher: Random House
Release Date: March 5th 2019
Synopsis: When the dawn breaks, a hero rises.
His power is beyond imagining.
Clark Kent has always been faster, stronger–better–than everyone around him. But he wasn’t raised to show off, and drawing attention to himself could be dangerous. Plus, it’s not like he’s earned his powers . . . yet.
But power comes with a price.
Lately it’s difficult to hold back and keep his heroics in the shadows. When Clark follows the sound of a girl crying, he comes across Gloria Alvarez and discovers a dark secret lurking in Smallville. Turns out, Clark’s not the only one hiding something. Teaming up with his best friend, Lana Lang, he throws himself into the pursuit of the truth. What evil lies below the surface of his small town? And what will it cost Clark to learn about his past as he steps into the light to become the future Man of Steel? Because before he can save the world, he must save Smallville.
This is the last book in the DC Icons series, and not the most exciting one for me to be honest. But still, I am quite curious about this all series and now that every book is out I have no excuse to get started.
Title: The Steel Prince (Shades of Magic Vol. 1)
Author: V.E. Schwab, Andrea Olimpieri
Publisher: Titan Comics
Release Date: March 6th 2019
Synopsis: Delve into the thrilling, epic tale of the young and arrogant prince Maxim Maresh, long before he became the king of Red London and adoptive father to Kell, the lead of A Darker Shade of Magic!
The youthful Maresh is sent to a violent and unmanageable port city on the Blood Coast of Verose, on strict orders from his father, King Nokil Maresh, to cut his military teeth in this lawless landscape.
There, he encounters an unruly band of soldiers, a lawless landscape, and the intoxicatingly deadly presence of the newly returned pirate queen, Arisa…
This is probably the most exciting release of March for me ! Ever since Schwab announced this comic book prequel to her fabulous Darker Shades of Magic series I have been dying to read it. I don’t know much about comics, which i all the more reason to give this one a go.
Let me know what new release has you most excited this month👇💕
