Hey readers ! As is tradition, today I am wraping up the previous month and telling you all about the books I’ve read this past weeks.
October has been a very busy month for me, so I didn’t do much reading. I’ve only read three books
Of Triton (The Syrena Legacy #2) – Anna Banks
Publisher: Feiwel and Friends
Number of pages: 246
Genre: Young Adult – Fantasy – Romance
Synopsis: Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half-Breeds should be put to death.
As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?
Rating and thougths: 4/5 – In September I started reading this series, so obviously this month I had to keep going. I really like this story and these characters. Of triton was fun, highly entertaining and extremely addicting. I’m really looking forward to book three.
The Ship of the Dead (Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard #3) – Rick Riordan
Publisher: Disney Hyperion
Number of pages: 423
Genre: Young Adult – Fantasy – Mythologie
Synopsis: Magnus Chase, a once-homeless teen, is a resident of the Hotel Valhalla and one of Odin’s chosen warriors. As the son of Frey, the god of summer, fertility, and health, Magnus isn’t naturally inclined to fighting. But he has strong and steadfast friends, including Hearthstone the elf, Blitzen the dwarf, and Samirah the Valkyrie, and together they have achieved brave deeds, such as defeating Fenris Wolf and battling giants for Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Now Magnus and his crew must sail to the farthest borders of Jotunheim and Niflheim in pursuit of Asgard’s greatest threat. Will they succeed in their perilous journey, or is Ragnarok lurking on the horizon?
Rating and thougths: 5/5 – THIS SERIES IS EVERYTHING. I adored the first two books of the Magnus Chase series. So it’s no surprise that I adored the final book as well. This book was epic, hilarious and moving. If you haven’t started this series yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up.
Our Dark Duet (This Savage Song #2) – Victoria Schwab
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Number of pages: 510
Genre: Young Adult – Paranormal – Fantasy
Synopsis: THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.
KATE HARKER isn’t afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she’s good at it.
AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.
THE WAR HAS BEGUN.
THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.
Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims’ inner demons.
Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?
Rating and thougths: 5/5 – This book blew me away. It was thrilling and fascinating. Not gonna lie, it kinda broke my heart and I think it will stay with me for a while. Full review to come.
